Reggie Jackson is an American basketball player who began his professional career after being selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NBA draft.

The point guard was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2015 and still plays for the team.

Who is NBA’s Reggie Jackson (age)?

Reginald Shon Jackson, known professionally as Reggie Jackson, was born on April 16, 1990 in Pordenone, Northeast Italy to American parents – Saul Jackson (father), who worked at Aviano Air Base, and Sharon Jackson (mother).

The Jacksons moved from Italy to England and then to the United States, residing in North Dakota, Georgia and later in Florida. When Reggie Jackson was in the 6th grade, the family moved once more to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they eventually settled.

He attended General William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and played basketball with the school team. Before graduating in 2008, Jackson won the 2007-08 Gatorade Colorado Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year.

At the end of his high school career, Reggie Jackson was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and was ranked the #29 shooter and #115 in the nation in 2008.

Reggie Jackson was admitted to Boston College and joined the Eagles. In his freshman year, the team competed in the NCAA tournament and Jackson played like a superstar. He took over the starting role in his sophomore season after teammate Tyrese Rice left, but the team failed to make it to the NCAA tournament.

During his junior year, the point guard led the Eagles to scoring at 18.2 points per game and also led them to the National Invitational. His outstanding performance during his junior year earned him first-team All-ACC honors alongside four of his teammates.

Reggie Jackson relinquished his senior year for the NBA draft and was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round. He played for the team from 2011 to 2015 but his first season wasn’t that productive. Between March and December 2012, the young star was assigned to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League at various times.

The following season, Reggie Jackson showed a fair amount of improvement as there was an obvious, steady increase in his minutes and production. After an injury suffered by Russell Westbrook, he was soon promoted to starting point guard and recorded 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. He averaged 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game as a starter during the playoffs.

Playing against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs (Game 4), Reggie’s 9-rebound 32-point career lead resulted in his team’s 92–89 victory over their opponent. On November 11, 2014, Jackson recorded a season-high 29 points on 12-of-21 shooting in the game that ended in a 78–85 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Reggie Jackson was traded to the Detroit Pistons on February 19, 2015. In his debut match, which ended in a 106-89 win over the Washington Wizards, he had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. He went on to record his second career triple-double on March 27, during the game against the Orlando Magic, with 26 points, 11 rebounds and ten assists. In doing so, he became the first Detroit Pistons point guard to hit a triple-double in a season (1986–87) and the first member of the team to do so since the 1997–98 season.

Due to his strong game, Reggie Jackson was re-signed by the team to a five-year, $80 million contract. With an average of 27.0 points and 8.8 assists and four straight wins, he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 6. The record made him the first Piston to have 30 pluses and more than 15 assists in a game since Isiah Thomas in 1988.

For the week ended December 20, 2015, Jackson was again named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He averaged 29.3 points (first in the Eastern Conference), 7.7 assists (second in the Eastern Conference), and 6.3 rebounds.

Reggie missed the first 21 games of the 2016-17 season due to left knee tendinosis and a right thumb sprain through the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). He returned to the field on December 4, scoring 18 points in 23 minutes against the Orlando Magic. That same month he sustained a right ankle sprain (Grade 3) and was ruled out for six to eight weeks. He made his debut on March 20, 2018 after missing 24 games.

Jackson continues to play with passion and enthusiasm.

What is his net worth?

While not all basketball players are super rich, it’s a basic truth that signing with the National Basketball Association is a surefire path to a life of comfort. Since Reggie Jackson entered the big league, he has had lucrative contracts.

After the five-year contract, DetroitReggies salary increased from $2 million to $14 million during the 2015-2016 season. In the following years he will earn $15 million, $16 million, $17 million and $18 million respectively.

Jackson’s net worth is currently estimated at a conservative $10 million.
