NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Former Sony Records exec Tommy Mottola has been sued over the advance for a biography that he allegedly did not deliver.
Mottola released his biography Hitmaker: The Man and His Music in 2013 and under a previously existing contract with his publisher Grand Central Publishing was obligated to provide a second manuscript focused on his business experience, titled The Bronx School of Business.
Grand Central Publishing's parent Hachette is seeking a return of the $150,000 advance they claim to have paid Mottola, as well as accrued interest.
Interestingly, the suit, filed on Feb. 22nd in U.S. court of New York, revealed that Hachette estimated Mottola's net worth to be approximately $200 million.
Representatives for Mottola did not immediately respond to a request for comment, Billboard said. – Staff Writers
