Sisters Keep Sleepy Hollow Business In The Family

Rey Insurance Agency announced that Sleepy Hollow natives and sisters Linda Rey and Laura Rey Iannarelli bought out the insurance agency from their father, Francisco Rey. Rey started the business in 1978.

“We always say that it’s our policy to treat customers like family, and I believe that’s been the key to our success: really listening to our customers, finding out what keeps them up at night, what they don’t like or understand about policies they may have through other agencies, and then working closely with them to ensure their needs are met and their assets protected,” Iannarelli said. “This is a very proud moment for us.”

Iannarelli and Rey have helped lead the company for more than 15 years, with Iannarelli working as a licensed agent and office manager while Rey works as a licensed agent who handles sales and marketing operations. Both sisters helped expand the business to Connecticut and New Jersey clients.

Both sisters are responsible for a variety of roles within the business. Rey also offers seminars and blogs for Equifax. Rey is a past president and vice president of the Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce, a former Board member of the Food Bank of Westchester, Westchester County Association and The Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns, as well as one of the co-founding members of the Professional Women of Westchester.

“I believe that in order to build a successful business, you need to make a commitment to be part of the community where you do business,” Rey said. “The connections I’ve made and the relationships I’ve developed have helped us keep up with changes in the industry and the needs of our customers. It’s key to staying ahead of the curve.”
